The book of the month is…

Before starting to talk about this book I have to make a small premise. This month’s book does not tell about managers, commercial events, marketing or other kind of stuff like this. This month’s book talks about how to understand the secret language of newborn babies. Now you will wonder: why the choice of this book? Well the answers are 2:

  1. I’m becoming dad and as always I think that only by reading, inquiring and studying (and obviously doing practice) I can start to understand something new;
  2. Because even within a book not connected to the world of work someone can find and learn concepts and behaviors that are very useful in everyday life and in the management of our problems.

In particular, the book taught me that there is no right or wrong, there isn’t an “unique technique” or a “absolute certainty” to learn to manage children (or everything else) but there is the common sense. Sometimes if we follow the common sense, the middle way between black and white, we will find the answer to our problems.

Sometimes if we follow the common sense, the middle way between black and white, we will find the answer to our problems.

Secrets of the baby whisperer, written by Tracy Hogg and Melinda Blau, is a book that try to guide new parents through their baby’s first year. The main concept, called E.A.S.Y. method, consists in a flexible routine for babies of Eating, followed by Activity, followed by Sleep then followed by time for You, the mother and the dad. The book explains how the method alone can’t work without the parents’ common sense. For example before starting any action on the screaming child stop yourself, take a step back and observe.

Absolute truths will not be read in this book but many examples and advices from Tracy and Melinda.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone!!!
